Swan Lake with the San Francisco Ballet
February 27 2016For Celia’s birthday, we attended an old standby, Swan Lake with the San Francisco Ballet. It was a good performance, with an excellent lead performance by Sofiane Sylve.

Sofiane Sylve as Odette was excellent
I don’t remember very many specifics from the night, other than the energy and strength of the lead dancer. Sofiane Sylve had these really broad shoulders and she was just a very vibrant and muscular version of Odette, quite different from other performances I’ve seen. Some of her leaps seemed even a bit violent, there was just so much strength behind it. Overall, it was very enjoyable.

I got this nice snap of the swans
